A spike in known COVID-19 cases doesn’t warrant another shutdown

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases is surging in areas across the country and California is one of the hotspots.

As restaurants, retail stores, and personal service shops are gradually opening, headlines like “California hits greatest seven-day average of new coronavirus cases yet” may induce businesses to have second thoughts.

We have become accustomed to shifting information from our leaders. We must urge Gov. Newsom to continue the reopening process. An increase in known coronavirus cases is no reason to reverse course.
